Talasey Group updates for 2018
With continued expansion across its product portfolio, catering to a host of different landscaping solutions, the Talasey Group corporate entity has been created to house all of the brands that previously fell under the Natural Paving umbrella.
The Talasey Group now fully encapsulates the company’s complete range of products and solutions incorporating: Natural Paving (natural stone landscaping materials), Vitripiazza (Italian porcelain vitrified flagstones), Baksteen (Dutch clay pavers), Luxigraze (artificial grass and accessories), Pavetuf (stone installation cleaning and maintenance products) and new Resiscape (resin-bound aggregates and accessories).
Latest Trends
2017 was dominated by the rise in grey products, from stone and polished concrete, to Italian porcelain. The extensive use of grey and buff tones in last year’s annual Talasey Group Landscaping Professional awards is testament to the growing popularity and aesthetic value of these shades.
For example, Creative Gardens, winner of the Best Use of Vitripiazza category, used Tempesta, a subtle and elegant off-white flagstone and Nuvola, a textured grey product with buff tones, to create a refined installation. Similarly, runner up in the same category, Pickwell Paving, used Mercurio a classic grey porcelain to create a tasteful garden area.
Both of the aforementioned projects used vitrified paving products, another emerging trend that is becoming more popular in Britain. We’re anticipating a huge spike in the sales of vitrified paving over the next year. Using full-bodied porcelain flagstones, like our Vitripiazza collection, offers landscaping professionals a genuine alternative to more traditional products and provides homeowners with the ultimate choice in durability, longevity and style. However, it’s important to be wary of cheaply made imported ceramic products, which may claim to be porcelain but lack the numerous benefits of true vitrified porcelain paving.
Another trend merchants and their customers need to be aware of is the rise of questionable ‘British Made’ products. Sadly, some less scrupulous suppliers are increasingly insisting their products are manufactured in Britain, even when the evidence to support such claims is unclear. One of the biggest culprits for this is artificial grass industry. While some of the product is manufactured in Britain most of the yarn is imported from overseas. It’s difficult to see how these products can claim to be British when the major component has been imported.
Latest Product Launch
The Talasey Group is delighted to announce a new addition to its portfolio with the launch of a new resin bound aggregate, Resiscape.
Quick and easy to install, the Resiscape system can be used in a number of applications on both commercial and domestic projects and is available in a range of six standard colours in 4m2 kits. It is one of the strongest systems available on the market for creating a low maintenance surface that is hard wearing whilst also being flexible and resistant to cracking.
UV-stable, Resiscape will not discolour under ultraviolet radiation. The resin bound system combines the aggregate with the resin before mixing which helps produce an even, flat finish that will stand the test of time. This is unlike resin-bonded systems, which can result in a textured, rough finish with some stone left exposed.
Additions to Signature Collections
Representing the very best in natural stone landscaping materials from across the world, the Natural Paving range continues to be the largest in the UK market and the most significant brand of the Talasey Group. The extensive range of natural stone flagstones is split across a number of collections including the ever-popular Premiastone, Cragstone and Classicstone ranges.
New to the Premiastone range is the addition of Silver Ash, a lightly flamed granite flagstone. The company has also added Yorkshire Blend to its Classicstone range – a traditional twist on the popular York Stone, with a natural riven finish in hues of grey and buff. The Fossestone block paving collection, Cobblestone cobbles and a selection of walling options known as Cottagestone, are also included in the Natural Paving collection.
Talasey Group’s Vitripiazza range sees the addition of six new products – Avorio, Bronzo and Pantero have been added to its Anno collection and new for 2018 is the Stile collection, offering a choice of three colours. The Stile collection offers a chic and smooth porcelain ideal for creating a contemporary, minimalist design and particularly well suited for the modern trend for inside-outside designs that marry the floor covering seamlessly across a property.
2018 also sees a new product range for Talasey Group’s Baksteen brand, the company’s range of cosmopolitan handmade Dutch clay pavers, which are typically rectangular shaped pavers. The new Dutch Square range for 2018 offers five colour options; Pecan, Smoke, Miller, Mallow and Dutch Blend, which is a blend of the first 4 colours.
