Talasey Group scoop ‘huge’ award
The Talasey Group has been crowned Supplier and Service Provider of the Year at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards 2020.
Our Southern Sales Director Shane McCormick – who was rubbing shoulders with the great and the good from the landscaping industry at the ceremony, held at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf in London – went up to collect the award on our behalf when the winner was announced.
Winning this award was a huge moment for us, and our Sales & Marketing Director Malcolm Gough said it benchmarks just how far we have come as a business.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be named as Supplier and Service Provider of the Year by the judges of Pro Landscaper Business Awards because we were up against some very stiff opposition,” said Malcolm.
“It’s such a prestigious award and it means the world to everybody at the Talasey Group because it recognises the lengths we go to to support our customers by being a reliable supplier of ethically sourced, quality products – backed up with great customer service.”
The judges looked at 10 key areas, namely: Staff Training & Development, Client Retention, Financial Stability, Relationships with Contractors, Commitment to the Industry, Product Development, Product Training, Installer Schemes, the Use Technology and Development Plans & Future Goals.
There were three key themes that ran through our award submission.
The first was that our business continues to enjoy strong year-on-year growth because we have a committed team who care about the business and the industry and excel at forging and maintaining strong relationships directly with landscapers.
The second was our commitment to our supply chain to ensure that products are ethically sourced. As a manufacturer, we invest in our supply chain and the people that work in it and are proactive members of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). Our award hghlights how we lead the way to demonstrate how natural stone mining can be conducted successfully and ethically.
The third was our ongoing commitment to raising standards, skills and knowledge about landscaping products. Our groundbreaking Talasey Training Academy (TTA) has exceeded all expectations, with more than 300 people attending courses and gaining City & Guilds accreditation within the first full year of opening.
If there’s one thing that really stands out in helping set us apart, it’s our willingness to go above and beyond to help landscaping firms to grow their businesses, and this was best exemplified by a comment made by Sean Fitzgerald from Prestige Landscaping Northwest, who said he ‘avoids reps from other suppliers, but I look forward to seeing my mates from Talasey because they make me feel like I’m part of something special.’
Summing up what the award win means, Malcolm said: “Every single person at Talasey Group deserves to bask in the glory of this award because it is a huge accolade for us, and it has only been possible because of the dedication and hard work of an exceptional group of people that I’m proud to call my colleagues.
“This award is huge for us and we’ll never forget just what an important step forward this is for our business.”
