Everyone at Talasey Group would like to congratulate Chris Rose from Merseyside-based landscapers Rose Gardens for winning another Gold award and for being named Best in Show at this year’s Southport Flower Show.
Chris went one better than his previous Gold in 2016 at the event – which is the largest independent flower show in the UK and held at Victoria Park in the seaside town – for his show garden, which strongly featured Talasey Group products.
We’re delighted for Chris and also because his winning garden did, in our opinion, showcase a fantastic array of Talasey Group products to their very best to create a truly stunning show garden, which took more than a month to construct.
For the main paved area, Chris used Vitripiazza Flintana Eve with Natural Paving Ebony Weathered Cobbles to give it a rustic accent on the edging. Chris used Vitripiazza Rok Wall Cladding in Grey for the feature wall and Natural Paving Cottage Stone Walling in Carbon Black for the other walls.
Chris said that winning the awards will be another big boost for his business, which trades on its reputation for exceptional design using high-quality materials.
“Winning another Gold was amazing, but to win Best in Show is an incredible achievement and something that I’m hugely proud of because it encapsulates everything about the work that Rose Gardens does – from the stunning designs and amazing selection of flora to the use of high-quality materials from great suppliers like Talasey Group,” said Chris, who added that it was a proud moment he shared with his father, Tony.
“My father, Tony, started the business. Although he’s now retired, we discussed the design and he did all the planting for the show garden using plants that he grew himself,” said Chris. “He nearly missed it, though, as they announced the Best in Show as he was just about to leave!”
Chris said it was a conversation with his local merchant, Jewson Widnes, that led to an invite our HQ in Doncaster – and the whole thing snowballed from there.
“I’m a big fan of the quality of Talasey Group products anyway, but it was a fantastic opportunity to go and meet key members of the team, get a better insight into the products – including ranges that were so new that they weren’t in the brochures yet – and get inspired with designs for the show,” said Chris.
Our Marketing Manager Rebecca Hughes, who visited the show to see Chris’s garden, was delighted with his awards and is very proud that Talasey Group products played their part in a stunning garden.
“We’re fully committed to supporting the landscaping industry, and every year we partner up with a selection of garden designers and donate various products from our strong portfolio of landscaping brands to enable them to achieve their visions and create show-stopping designs,” said Rebecca.
“Chris had a vision for his garden and came to visit us to see which Talasey Group products could help to achieve that vision, and the end result speaks for itself.
“We’re delighted, as it’s a win-win: it’s great for Chris’s business and great for us to work with an award-winning landscaper who has showcased our products to stunning effect.”
