Talasey has made three appointments to bolster our senior management team with a Director of Strategy & Proposition, a Marketing Director and a National Sales Manager all joining the team.
Sam Hanks, who is a well-known figure in the construction industry, has joined us in the newly created role of Director of Strategy & Proposition, with a remit to conduct a root-and-branch review of our business in order to identify how we can maximise existing opportunities and explore new ways in which to grow and expand.
Sam – who was recently named in the Builders Merchants Federation’s (BMF) Top 100 most influential suppliers - is also a trustee of the construction charity Band of Builders, our charity partner. She has charted our growth over recent years, and the time was right for her to join the team.
“Talasey continues to go from strength to strength – but there is so much more that it can achieve, and I’m excited by the prospect of taking the business on a journey of growth and expansion.”
said Sam, who brings nearly 20 years of supplier-side experience to the role.
“I’m passionate about developing people and teams – and this will be the key that helps to unlock Talasey’s ability to go to the next level of growth.”
Rebecca Hughes – who was also named in the same BMF Top 100 – has re-joined us as Marketing Director. She kept close links with us when she was in senior marketing roles in the roofing and perimeter security industries, and was lured back to lead the marketing drive to grow our business.
“I was proud to be part of the team that oversaw the brand transition of the company to Talasey – that created a strong platform from which the company has grown significantly,”
“The prospect of the next phase of growth is a really exciting challenge for our marketing team, and one that we are already starting to deliver on.”
Completing the trio is Peter O'Loughlin who joins us as National Sales Manager. He brings more than a decade of experience in the sales of landscaping and building products to both independent and national builders' merchant chains.
He will head up our external sales function, and will manage our teams of Area Sales Managers and Merchant Support Managers.
“I’ve long been an admirer of Talasey - as their reputation for quality, ethically sourced landscaping products is well known within the industry – so I jumped at the chance to join them. The new appointments show that Talasey means business, and I’m looking forward to playing a pivotal role in its growth.”
The appointments are the next phase of our overall growth plans, and come hot on the heels of our move to our new Head Office located in Scunthorpe. Our showroom takes centre stage in showcasing all of what we have to offer – but it is our extensive training facilities that have enabled us to become a BMF Centre of Excellence.
Plans for the next phase of our growth are seeing the introduction of activity to pull end users towards us, with a view to create a smooth pathway to consumers – an example of this is seeing our team exhibiting at recent consumer shows; such as Grand Designs Live, with the aim of increasing end user visibility. We can then signpost them to our wide network of merchant partners.
In addition, our Talasey On Tour initiative is taking mobile showrooms to the doorsteps of landscapers – usually located at their local merchants. They are staffed by our knowledgeable team, who are on hand to help landscapers understand product features and benefits and how we could help them maximise their sales potential.
