Course Content

  1. Introduction - Delegates understand what a composite product is
  2. Benefits of Composites - Delegates understand the features and benefits of composites versus other materials eg wood
  3. Manufacturing process - Delegates understand the manufacturing process and the content of what makes a composite product
  4. Common faults - Delegates understand the common faults associated with this product
  5. Expansion and Contraction – Delegates understand expansion gaps required for composite products
  6. Calculating Materials Required – Delegates understand how to calculate materials required for installation of decking, cladding and fencing
  7. Support structures - Delegates understand how to construct a sub frame for decking and a support structure for cladding
  8. Cladding round corners and windows - Delegate understand how to install cladding round corners and windows
  9. Post options for fencing – Delegates understand the post options for composite fencing
  10. Installation - Delegates can install a basic design for decking, cladding and fencing following instructions given to industry standards
  11. Decking edging and fascia’s - Delegates understand and can install edgings and fascia’s for decking
  12. Maintenance - Delegates understand the maintenance involved with the product, including aftercare tips

Learning Outcomes

  1. Be able to construct a support structure for decking and cladding to manufactures specifications and guidelines
  2. Be able to install cladding round corners and windows to manufactures specifications and guidelines
  3. Be able to install decking, cladding and fencing correctly to manufactures specifications and guidelines
  4. Be able to install decking edgings and fascia’s to manufactures specifications and guidelines including how to do a mitre joint

This is a one day course that takes place at our Training Facility in North Lincolnshire.
