Natural Paving Products (UK) Ltd is sponsoring a show garden at this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live, designed by multi-award winning garden designer John Cavill and 15 year-old Harry Ward, the show’s youngest silver medal winner.
Harry, who has never designed a full show garden before, was given the opportunity to co-design a garden with John after they met at last year’s event. The two designers have been planning for months and now, and with the help of Dean Brown from Decol Construction Ltd, their vision is about to become a reality at NEC in Birmingham in June.
The show garden, aptly named Down the Garden, will be built on a slope with one end sunk into the ground to a depth of half a metre. As a mixture of both designers’ styles, Harry’s modern taste and John’s signature cottage look, the garden will use Natural Paving Products’ Burnt Magenta sandstone flagstones from its Premiastone range and Graphite Vande Moortel Clay Pavers, to create multiple interlinking paths that complement and contrast the different areas of the garden.
John Cavill commented on Natural Paving Products flagstones saying: “The colour and quality of the flagstones fit in perfectly with the design and their delicately etched surface provide a vital dimension to the overall texture of the garden. I use Natural Paving Products ‘ materials all the time and they are, in my opinion, the best in the market for quality and ethical sourcing.”
Malcolm Gough, Business Development Director at Natural Paving Products commented: “Sponsoring John’s and Harry’s garden is a great opportunity for us to show the full potential of our products by placing them in the hands of highly creative professionals. The diversity of our recently expanded range means that gardeners can accomplish the perfect finish no matter what the style. We wish John and Harry the best of luck at this year’s show.”
After the event all the reusable materials from Down the Garden, including Natural Paving Products’ flagstones, are to be palletised and donated to local charity projects.
BBC Gardeners’ World Live event is now in its 22nd year and is well established as the largest lifestyle event in the UK. This year’s event is taking place between the 12th and 15th of June at the NEC in Birmingham.
